Summary: The Sales Development Representative Internship is a paid full-time sales internship position that requires a high level of outbound calling. This is a "hunter" role; gathering data and actively listening to prospective and existing customers to understand their business, uncover their problems and identify their needs. The Sales Development Representatives are creating and delivering qualified opportunities to support the Account Executive team.


  • 150 cold/warm calls daily qualifying leads from sources and referrals as sales opportunities
  • Help build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Set up meetings or calls between clients and Clearent Account Executives
  • Report to management regularly on performance results
  • Stay up-to-date with new product features and pricing plans


  • High School diploma required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, the internet and basic math skills
  • Independent thinking, initiative and decisiveness

Clearent is growing and our Solutions Center in West Palm Beach, FL will be moving to Delray Beach, FL end of year 2019. We offer in house paid classroom training; help you build skills, increase your knowledge and boost your confidence.

Clearent Internship Learning Objectives:

  • Critical Thinking/Problem Solving: The intern will listen to business owners' challenges, concerns and pain points affecting their businesses. They will then present solutions that Clearent offers to show the merchants how those challenges can be overcome and how that will benefit their business. The intern will develop the ability to identify a problem provide real life solutions.
  • Oral/Written Communication: The intern will be communicating with business owners over the phone as well as through email. They will have to articulate how our products and services will benefit their business. This will help the intern develop their communication and persuasive skills.
  • Teamwork/Collaboration: On top of working with other SDRs as part of team in obtaining a common goal, the intern will also be paired up with a team of Account Executives that will handle the account after the initial appointment. They will have to work very closely with the AEs and be able to collaborate with them on presenting a viable solution for the business owner.
  • Digital Technology: The intern will be exposed to the latest technology in the payment processing industry and will become knowledgeable enough to present these as solutions to business owners. These technologies include, but are not limited to, virtual terminals, payment gateways and POS integrations.
  • Professionalism/Work Ethic: The intern will be involved in meetings with other staff and upper management. The intern will adhere to a set schedule which will help them develop a good work ethic and accountability.
  • Global Intercultural Fluency: We are a very diverse organization and the intern will be working very closely with people of different cultures, races, ages, etc. This will help the intern develop and demonstrate sensitivity, openness and inclusiveness.
